How does a Suicide impact high school student today?
Did you know that a youth commits suicide every 100 minutes?
I would say that suicide impacts high school in a negative way. I say that because I feel like that when you commit suicide you are taking the easy way out. I know that everybody has their own pain and problems, but instead of being strong and proving people wrong you prove them right by killing yourself. I can personally say that teen suicide not only affects the teen, it affects everyone that is around him or her.
I have friends that I have had to talk out of suicide because they have too many family problems, or they are tired of being hurt or school is just too stressful for them. It has been a fact that teens bury their emotions within themselves until they reach bursting point. If they just share half of their problems, suicide could be prevented.
On the other hand people say suicide can be a good thing because they are in a better place now, and wont have to worry about anymore problems that they were dealing with like; childhood depression, decrease in family stability, increase in access to firearms, harming themselves, stress and depression.
I don’t see how suicide can ever be a good thing, everyone is affected by it, there is a lot of help you can go get to help prevent it, and that’s not the only option now days.
Suicide in high school has become outrageous. I can agree with that because in 2003, suicide was the leading cause of teen’s death. Teens today can get their hands on just about anything to kill themselves from firearms to pills.
High school students commit suicide more now then they did back then. Something has to change; we are in high school we shouldn’t be thinking about ending our lives when we have so much more we could be doing.
Suicide is not the way to go, there are counselors, friends, and family that you can talk to that can help you prevent this problem. Think twice before you make a life changing decision that will affect everyone that is in your life or around you.
